Welcome to DAR Technologies | Universal Accessibility For All

DAR Technologies Is the brainchild of three entrepreneurs with a background in engineering, passenger transportation and automotive supplies, who realised that passenger transport in South Africa lacks accessible vehicles for disabled passengers.

After thousands of hours of research and development, DAR Technologies produced the first universally accessible minibus prototype, designed to assist passengers who use wheelchairs to get quick and easy access into minibuses which are the primary mode of passenger transportation in South Africa.

Why choose our design:

  • Passengers safety and comfort
  • Customisable seating layout
  • Our ramp system deploys within seconds
  • Safety features as per SABS standards
  • Can be used for taxi or public transport without losing seat space while no wheelchair passengers are present
  • Wheelchair passengers don’t require assistance from the driver while boarding the minibus at public bus stops
  • Passengers can access the minibus even on very rough rural roads with assistance from the driver
  • Automated Sliding door with manual override in case of emergencies
  • Our conversion ar bolt-on, suitable for any front wheel drive minibus, no cutting or modifying the chassis to keep the factory structural integrity
  • Self-levelling air suspension for a smooth ride
  • We make use of the latest CAD and 3D modelling software
  • Designed and built in South Africa

Crowdfunding campaign

We have started a crowdfunding campaign for our project dedicated to the development of minibuses that afford easy access to passengers who use wheelchairs. Our system can be used for private and public transport as it is fully automated and deploys within seconds.
So far we have built a preliminary working prototype which was fully funded by us the developing team. The funds obtained from this campaign will be used to build an improved prototype that will be homologated (in South Africa in the beginning) and set for production. The success of this campaign will benefit a large number of people who can’t afford the luxury of owning an accessible private vehicle. At the moment in South Africa, we have over 600000 disabled children who never been to school, mostly because of the lack of access to transport that can accommodate wheelchair-bound passengers.
